Does anyone know about the status of the subway construction around the main square there in Porto near the train station? It was such a mess last year.

I was in Porto last week and there is still a lot of construction around the Sao Bento train station. Were you wondering because of driving there or?

Was in São Bento and around that area this afternoon, and can confirm that yes, there's a lot of quite disruptive construction under way in front of the station, around Praça da Liberdade, and in Rua dos Clérigos. IMHO, a person would be nuts to bring a car into that part of town (or anywhere in the Centro, really).
The Metro D line, which runs north-south through the Centro and across the river to Gaia, is working just fine. I'm guessing, but don't know for a fact, that all the construction has to do with the construction of the new Pink line, estimated completion date this year sometime. (If they're going to finish this year, they'd better hurry.)

We are staying near there in September. We will not be driving. Is there any idea when it will be done?
