Porto lodging questions

I've been to Lisbon, Algarve, and Azores. My next Portugal trip will be to Porto in late spring next year.

While researching for places to stay, I came upon a couple of questions and hope the forum can offer some help.

  • I have stayed in airbnb elsewhere, and will likely do so in Porto. Found a few I like. Hosts list their "Policy number", but one host has "Exempt" instead of a number. I assume that "Policy number" is a license number. What does "Exempt" mean?

  • I also look into apartments, and wonder how do they differ from airbnb. Are they in buildings with only short term rental units? Or are they single units in a building?

  • There is construction for new metro lines:

Tram 22 is shut down, and there are complaints about construction noise. Where exactly are the construction sites? How bad is the noise and in what hours? Trying to stay away from them.

Thanks in advance.

Construction sites: Carregal, Galiza, Av de França and the city center. At the city center: Praça da Liberdade, Praça de Almeida Garret, Av Mouzinho da Silveira. I think that's all. All this due to the new metro line.

There are other places with works, or might be. Those we cannot know. They start suddenly.

There are no works after 6pm, or before 8 am. So... it's not as bad as you may think.

Thanks. Yes, not too bad. I would most likely be away from my lodging during those hours. By late May 2023, the locations and noise level may be different.
