Following our RS Heart of Portugal tour in mid-October, we will be staying an additional week in Porto. Would appreciate any recommendations for foodie tours in Porto and day trips by train from Porto. Plus any additional feedback on Porto in general. Thanks in advance!

Tasteporto.com is outstanding and busy! Over the years, we've done 3 tours with them and never been disappointed. We also did a combination drive and boat tour they told us about of the Duro valley that included lunch and Port tasting at one of the vineyards. In addition, they pointed us to an area in Western Porto that was loaded with fish restaurants that did charcoal grilling easily accessed by public transportation. Suggest you check them out and get your reservations in early.
In Aug 2023 we stayed 4 nights in Porto, including participating in a Taste Porto food tour. More about the food tour (with link) and our Porto stay are in our trip report (part 2): https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/trip-reports/trip-report-portugal-aug-sep-porto-coimbra-lisbon-then-to-spain
