Porto / Duero, Early June, 2 Kids

Hello all, we have booked our trip to Portugal. We will be traveling with our 1-year old and 3-year old children. We plan to spend 3 nights, 3 days in the Porto area. Where do you recommend we stay for the three nights. We are open to boutique hotels with breakfast, Bed & Breakfasts, or Family Farm Wineries in the Douro Valley.

While in this area, we plan to spend at least one full day in Porto (river cruise, etc..) and spend time in the Douro Valley exploring, small hikes, wine tasting, etc. Staying on an active farm / vineyard that is kid friendly would be our top priority if anything is within 90 minutes from Porto. We are also open to renting a car too.

Thanks for your help and suggestions.

I strongly recommend the In Patio Guesthouse in Porto. It is a boutique B&B with only 5 rooms. We had the best breakfasts we have ever had at ANY B&B in Europe. Also, the rooms are modern and spacious and the inn is centrally located. Book early, only five rooms.

Consider taking a day cruise up the Douro, or take the train that runs on the north bank of the river.

In Porto, you will find many places to sample the wonderful port. Up river wineries galore. You don't want to drive and visit wineries.

You don't want to drive in Porto. You may want to rent a car, but do it for a day if you plan to drive outside the city. Parking is very limited in the city. Tours are available/

Thank you so much for the information!

Unfortunately, the Guest House is sold out during our days in Porto. Do you recommend any other places to stay at (kid-friendly) in this area? Or any Quintas in the Duero Valley?

Thanks again!
