Hello fellow travellers. The cruise ship we will be on in April will be stopping at Porto. We would prefer not to a cruise ship excursion. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do? Do you also know how far the town, or interesting parts of Porto are from where cruise ships dock? There are only 2 in our party. Thank you very much for your input.

I only know Lisbon and area, so others can explain what to do in Porto. I lost a Porto cruise call during Covid.

River cruises dock in Porto, ocean cruises usually dock in the port of Leixões which is in Matosinhos, close to Porto.
My preferred sightseeing option in Porto is the Yellow Tourist Bus, it's Hop On Hop Off so you can visit attractions at your pace.
Download their map, they have two routes , the purple route number 8 stop is by the cruise terminal.
