We are in Portugal right now. Started in Lisbon & now in Algrave. Sintra was closed due to fire risk. Our next portion of our trip is Porto/Douro. Going to official site for information, but unclear if safe to travel. Anyone currently in Porto? What is it like? Air quality? Any alternative travel suggestions? Wishing the people living there well. Thanks!

If the buses and trains are running, it’s safe to travel. From what I can find, both are running.
Sintra has reopened, even the roads in the heavily forested hills. Rain is forecast for the burned areas so run off might be an issue in the coming days. You might want to contact your accommodations in Porto and the Douro.
