If anyone has driven this route, please share any route stops along the drive that we should check out. Traveling with kids; however, any suggestions are welcome. They're used to traveling and can roll with just about anything. Thanks in advance!

Baiona, Spain where one of Columbus’ ships returned. I think it was the Pinta and there is a replica ship to visit. There is a waterfront Parador. where we stayed on our way north to Santiago de Compostela.
Viana do Castello, Ponte de Lima, Braga and Guimares( first capital of Portugal, Castle)Portugal. This is the Minho region of Portugal and we explored this region before arriving in Porto.
