12 of us plan to spend 4 nights in Ponte Delgada next May as a stop over on our way home from Barcelona to Boston. Are there villa's or apartments to rent that would accommodate us or are we better off getting hotel rooms? Can you suggest a 3 day lowkey itinerary? Is there a different island in the Azores you would suggest. We like to participate in the local culture and be within walking distance

With 4 days, you should stay in Sao Miguel only. You have many options for apartments or hotels, as is explained in the guide. For now, I designed 4-day trip options in Sao Miguel. I will be adding 2 more day trips by October 1. Happy planning!
