Please advise. There's this rental near Crystal Palace in Porto...well it's on Calouste Gulbenkian street. Is it too far away from the centre and action? And do we need air conditioning for July in a new building? Thanks

Yes, and yes. It’s way too far out for me. Staying closer to Rebeira, Bolhao Market or Rua das Flores is ‘in the action’.
And you will need AC, but if it’s a new build, it will likely have it.

It will be a great place in a few months, not right now. One of the metro stations (Galiza) for the new metro line is right in front.
Aircon: well, it's a big risk not having it in July. In my opinion yes, you need air conditioning.
Away from center: it's not away from center, but it's not in the center. It's a 20 minutes walking to Torre dos Clérigos, for instance. Action: no action around.
