Planning trip for late April/early May

Four women - 8 day trip

Lisbon : four days
Day 1 Arrive - free afternoon
Day 2 Full day guided excursion to Porto / Obidos / Nazare
Day 3 Sights in Lisbon
Day 4 Train to Sintra / Pena palace / Moor castle
Day 5 Leave Lisbon for Algarve ( either Lagos or Albufeira)
Day 6 Caves / hanging bridges, etc
Day 7 Historical tour / Jeep excursion / western Algarve region
Day 8 Fly home from Faro airport

Any recommendations on itinerary?
Is the Flixbus a good way to travel from Lisbon to Algarve?
Is Lagos or Albufeira the better place to stay?
What area to stay in Lisbon that would be near transportation and walkable to major sights?

Thanks for the guidance.

Hello robbiekay1

Lisbon is wonderful. Spent four nights there a year ago and wish I could have stayed several days more.

If possible, I would suggest going to Belem maybe on Day 3. You can get there by public transportation. It is vey pretty and interesting with a lot to do.

I stayed at Be Poet Baixa Hotel on Rua Augusta. It is a three star boutique hotel with very high ratings. It is in the Baixa area which is flat. I have mobility issues and hills are a. problem for me but Be Poet Baixa Hotel also has a great location near very good transportation. It is walkable and I loved walking from one end of Rua Augusta to the other.

Thanks for the advice. Will probably replace Porto excursion with Belem and do a daytrip to Obidos/Nazare.

Looks like the Baixia area is a good place to stay in Lisbon.
