Pena Palace Gardens-senior ticket

HI all....my husband and I are more interested in spending our (limited) time in the Pena Palace Gardens than in the palace itself. As such we have been looking for tickets for seniors.

Any of the places we've found so far that sell tickets online for the palace grounds, only sell tickets to seniors onsite. I can appreciate they would want to see our ID, that's fine, but I am concerned about standing a long time in a line to buy tickets once we're there. Again our time is limited. We may just buy the regular priced adult tickets and not worry about the seniors' discount.

Here's my question: I've read that it's actually not necessary to purchase tickets only for the palace gardens, that one can just walk in!

Can anyone address this?
Much appreciated

If you google the website it says that it’s 9 euros for a senior ticket to visit park only. And they refer to it as the Palace Park not gardens. Just scroll thru the link above to get the info.

We also visited Montserrat which was not crowded and had a beautiful small palace and large gardens.

Again, it’s not free.

HI Margie,
Thank you for sending the website. Just fyi, the ticket prices are higher on this website for seniors than for adults on other websites we've looked at: 15.30 euros per senior vs $10 for adults. Perhaps it's because on this website the Gardens and Palace tickets are one--not separated? Whereas it appears on the other website I had found, entry to the gardens' area is by itself. As we have limited time we've made the difficult decision to forego the palace and just visit the gardens around it. If you can suggest any other websites to check for tickets, please let us know. We thank you for your time.

OP scroll down. Senior garden only is 9 euros. If you buy online, there is a 15% discount.

HI Beth,
Thank you about the note to scroll further down on the tickets page itself. I had missed it. Tickets now bought. And, it's a delight to know there isn't a timed entry for the park itself. Thanks again! :)
