Passenger Locator Card

Has anyone recently completed Portugal's required Passenger Locator Card? It must be completed within 48 hours of departure to Portugal. I'm reading in the "Spain" thread that someone completed a similar form for Spain online and is now attempting to "move" the information to an app for convenience of having to show proof using a cell phone during their travels in Spain. Any advice on Portugal's Locator Card??

Oh for goodness sake, just fill out the 3-minute-to-complete-form on the flight over. We are here now. You can do it online but frankly, it was easier to do it on the plane. Spain’s form might be more complicated, but you don’t need to worry about that for Portugal. What I would recommend, however, is taking a photo of your COVID vaccination card. We have found that some restaurants require you to present it prior to admitting you. You will also be required to present a negative test result each time you change hotels. We have found that most will do it on the property when you arrive, but one hotel did require us to have it done in town first. So far, they all have used the quick version of the test. And, don’t even think about getting on public transportation without a mask. My husband forgot to put his back on after taking a sip of water and the trolley driver actually stopped the trolley and instructed him to put it on if he wanted to continue his trip. He was mortified. So was I!

I recently Re-entered Portugal from Switzerland and completed the form online. When on the plane, I simply said I did it online and was not questioned further or asked to see it. It’s very simple and no one will likely ask to see it.

Thank you Wanderlust and Kathryn. I'm flying Delta from US with connection at Paris CDG. I do not see in the FAQ's regarding Portugal's Passenger Locator Card if travelers must enter the information for just the last flight Paris to Lisbon or ... US to Paris as well. The point of the locator card is for tracking so I'd think Portugal would want to know all flights just prior to entering the country. I've already printed my required form for France. I'll sign, date, and copy it prior to boarding in the US.
We've been masked in indoor spaces since March 2020 with the option to be maskless after full vaccination but most everyone still masks regardless. My county continues to remain among the highest for vaccination and lowest for cases in the US. The Delta variant may change that. I would feel strange to not be masked indoors, like driving without a seatbelt. It is just automatic.
Thanks again for your helpful advice and tips.

How do you print the passenger locator card? Am I supposed to get an email, and if so how long does it take to get the email?

Thank you!

My husband’s printed without a problem. I never was able to get mine to print. After 48 hours of angst, I realized it was all for not. I filled out one onboard my TAP flight in 3 minutes and that was it.

Hi Stephanie, we did ours online and it was super easy. Just entered our first stay in Portugal (nowhere to enter more details). We entered our email address on the form, and they sent us a copy of it in our email as well. Literally no one anywhere cared about our form. Delta didn't care when we checked in (I had it printed- they told me Portugal would care). No one asked on the plane, and no one asked when we came into Portugal either. ;o) Everyone was more obsessed with our negative covid test than anything else. Not sure if you will have a different experience.
