Parking in Porto - suggestions needed please!

Our hotel might not be able to accommodate parking in Porto for our stay. Airport parking is always an option but wondering anyone has other suggestions for safe parking for 3 days.

Note - Can’t change to rent later in the trip… We have a stop on the way to Porto. There also were crazy specials on AutoEurope renting out of Lisbon round trip for two weeks with zero deductible full car/liability coverage which was a fraction of the cost of a one way basic coverage rental out of Porto or Coimbra.

Have you tried asking your hotel? They will usually recommend somewhere nearby.

Helen - Thanks for your reply.

Our hotel said they can’t guarantee they can secure a place to park as they and most other hotels are sold out. We just need a backup plan.

Maybe change to a hotel with more parking if there is no cancellation fee. We forwent charming and quaint for a more business hotel, Hotel NH Porto Jardim, because it has a large, new, parking garage.

We parked our rental car at General Torres parking garage in villa novo de Gaia and then took Uber down to our hotel by the river on the Gaia side, but you could go to Porto side by train, taxi or Uber. There is also a parking garage by Compana train station in Porto, by the hospital and stadium in Porto. look on the map for the large parking garages. Some of the smaller ones in downtown Porto maybe filled and difficult to access.

jaimeelsabio - Thanks for your reply. Changing hotels at this point would be more expensive as we have a very discounted rate.
