Parking in Porto

Where are you coming from or going to? Can you simply get the car as you leave Porto or drop it as you arrive?

Or rebook a hotel that offers parking?

Park at the airport and take the metro into the city. You want to avoid driving in Porto if possible.

We had the same question.....decided to just park the car at the Porto airport for 4 days and take public transportation of some sort into the city. We figured that would be the safest and easiest solution.

Thank you for the suggestion of parking at the airport ! We are going to do just that. You can also reserve a spot online beforehand

There are a few easy to reach parking garages in Porto. I used the one across the street from the bus station, Parking Porto. It was not expensive and great for our three days there.

I needed a garage because we rented from Lisbon airport immediately drove directly to Porto. We had another 2 1/2 weeks in Portugal. We then used one full day to drive the Douro valley. I rented a minivan and there were 6 of us, so this was the cheapest and best way to travel, including the parking garage. It is very easy to navigate with GPS and using Google Maps or WAZE.

There is definitely no need to drive in Porto, as everyone agrees.
