Any suggestions for parking a car in Lisbon for 3-4 days? Would the airport be a good option?
Thanks,
Rob
Some Lisbon hotels have parking, probably not for free, such as Rick's guidebook listing for www.hotelbotanico.pt. The Ibis chain hotels on the edge of the city may also have more parking options. Central, underground garages tend to start around €20/day.
We stayed at the Pousada Dona Maria in Queluz and enjoyed our stay. We had free parking. This isn't downtown Lisbon, but it's a short train ride to be right downtown. It's also right across the street from the National Palace of Queluz. http://www.pousadas.pt/historic-hotels-portugal/en/pousadas/lisbon-hotels/pousada-de-queluz-lisboa/d-maria-i/pages/home.aspx.
Since we had a rental car with us in Lisbon, we opted for the 'Albergeria' at Miradouro da Senhora do Monte. There was free parking at the viewpoint and the car was fine the whole 3 days. And needless to say, being at the 'mirador', the views from the room and the breakfast lounge were great!
Not sure why you want to park at the airport?? There are parking places all over Lisbon. I parked my car in a garage near my hotel, yes, it wasn't cheap - $15 euros per day, but it was cheaper than in San Francisco! If you want to use your car it is available. If it is at the airport, not convenient. Why not check with the hotel or place you are staying and ask them about parking close by?
