In August, we could not take part in an English-speaking tour without a reservation—there are only a few during the day and they fill up quickly. I don’t know if an advance-purchase ticket is available weeks before your intended visit, but we had to make one in the morning for a late afternoon tour. Interestingly, the “English“ tour was populated by English-speakers of varying ability from all over Europe because tours were not offered in their native languages. We were the only native English speakers on the tour.
