Overwhelmed Selecting a Quinta in Douro Valley!

Hi all:

Too many choices in Douro Valley selecting a quinta. Looking for an upscale quinta for one night in October.
Welcome recommendations of places you've stayed and recommend highly.
Just too many choices to select from.
TIA.

Quinta de la Rosa is lovely. Stayed there in 2020 and am returning for another stay soon. It’s right outside of Pinhão and on the river. Another plus is that it’s not as expensive as a lot of them.

You might also look at Julie Dawn Fox’s blog. I’ve followed a number of her recommendations and always been pleased.

Quinta Do Vallado
Stayed three nights. Set in a winery so can go tasting there. Includes buffet and cooked to order breakfast, wine, offers wine paired dinner, spa, beautiful views, great staff and close to other quintas if you care to go tasting at a couple of other places. Near Pinaho, so couple of nice places for dinner there (10 minutes away)

Quinta De La Rosa is booked solid for the date I need, and Quinta do Vallardo for some reason is not accepting reservations.
Guess I picked the right ones but alas.

Hm. I just checked Vallado (not Vallardo) hotel website directly. Plenty of availability for most of October and no problem booking room.

Note there are two different "sections" located inside the main building and in a separate building that has 8 rooms (Regua). We stayed in the separate building. (spotless, large bathrooms, little sitting area, very quiet and comfortable). There is also a little cabin/house nearer the river (Casa).

Before you can check room availability and make a reservation, you need to pick one of these. If there is a problem trying to book on their website, send them a message as they were very prompt answering emails (considering time difference). Maybe try again? Good luck

Thanks. Checked again and now send to be accepting reservations. Must have been down for a bit.
