Opinion-Porto & Lisbon vs. Cascais

I'm getting all kinds of opinions and want your advice on: 1. 3 or 4 days in Porto
2. Staying outside of Lisbon & taking the train into city or staying in the city for 4 or 5 days?
3. 4 or 5 days in Quarteira vs. 2 -3 days in Seville?

Thanks again all,
Jean

I like to stay where there's a concentration of sights. For me, that would be Lisbon. But if you are traveling with children who are easily placated with beach time, that might make a difference.

Hi Jean,

Without knowing any of your logistics or likes/ dislikes except that you have a car, my thoughts are:

  1. 3 days Porto

  2. 4 days staying in Lisbon city

  3. 4 days Quarteira

  4. 2 days Seville

You can tweak the days according to what interests you in the guidebook, either start or end in Lisbon and avoid 4-5 days of a rental car, and know there is more than enough to see and do in Portugal and save Seville for a dedicated Spain trip. Try to pace yourself if this is your first trip to Portugal.

Stay in Lisbon and Porto.

Both cities have a lot to see and do. I would give Porto two nights and Lisbon 3-4. Add more nights for day trips to Sintra, Evora, Cascas, Obidos.

If you stay in Porto, check out the best B and B ever, the InPatio Guesthouse. Great location, great breakfast, new facility, nice with very friendly owners.
