One Night Stand in Lisbon :)

Not what you think.
After our 3 week stay in Portugal including a week each in Lisbon, Cascais and Evora we will fly out on the evening of October 20th.
I have been looking for a nice place for our last night (yes, I looked in the RS Guide) but most of the places have a 2 night minimum stay.

We do not want to spend our last night at someplace at the airport.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Much Regards,
Dennis and Elinorre

If Lisbon or Cascais, staying in a hotel would work. I can’t imagine hotels having a minimum two night stay. From Cascais, the airport is about 30 minutes unless you are fighting rush hour traffic. From the center of Lisbon, much less. If you aren’t flying out until evening, you could even stay in Evora. From the info in your post, sounds like you could stay in your last Airbnb and not have any problem making it to the airport.

Hi Kathryn,
Strange as it seems, most, if not all of the "classy" hotels I have contacted have a 2-night minimum. As it will be our "final night in Lisbon" (at least for 2023) I am looking for a nice place to stay where we can go out for a last dinner etc

Going directly from Evora to the airport may have worked when we were in our 30's, but with a 7 hour flight followed by a long drive home, I don't think so.

I will be locking up the rest of the trip soon. The last night hotel decision can wait until I find the right place.

Much Regards,
Dennis

For those interested:
Revised return flight departing noonish, so it pretty much a get up and go from the hotel in the morning

Really confused by hotels having a two night minimum. I generally stay at Hilton or Marriott properties because of points/status and have done plenty of one night stays. If local places all want two nights, you might check the big chains instead.

We stayed at The Ivens, a Marriott property. It was divine!! Also stayed at Emerald House, a Hilton property. Not as nice as The Ivens but had a great breakfast that was included with stay.

check booking.com. It is a good site to do research on. Then you can book on it or go directly to the hotel website.

Have also found Booking.com helpful. Need to spend last night of vacation in Lisbon , as flying home from there.. Was able to book one night at Brown’s Central Hotel in Lisbon. Not sure if able to book one night due to staying at same hotel for two nights upon arrival in Portugal, but you might want to try them. Can’t guarantee quality of the hotel though, as haven’t gone on the vacation yet. Good luck!

kathykayhall7,

Let me know what you think of the hotel. Rooms look very small, but would appreciate your review.

When are you going

We stayed at the Brown's Central Hotel in Lisbon for 5 nights. I thought this hotel was an excellent choice. It is true that the rooms are small . Breakfast was included in the price. This hotel is situated very close to a subway station as well as excellent restaurants and shopping. If you can book it for the one night, then you should.
I always book through Hotels. com specifically for their rewards program where you get one free night for every 10 that you book through them. I have checked the hotels they offer on the specific hotel's website and find Hotels.com cheaper most times.
My son had a problem with Booking. com. They sent him a gift certificate and then refused to honor it when he tried to book through them.
