No too close to Lisbon airport.

We will be ending up in Lisbon for a few nights before we fly home to the states, after a month in Portugal.
Looking for a recommendation on a place to stay let’s say maybe no more than an hour from the airport. (Late morning flight out)

Do you mean outside the City of Lisbon or inside but not beside the airport.

We stayed in the Parque das Nações/ Oriente área, several hotels and about 15 minutes from the airport by taxi.

I was thinking outside, not stuck on hotels as we will be coming up from Airbnb’s but also not counting it out..
I guess my thought were in the city it’s busy and a bit loud but I’m sure there is mellow neighborhoods. I will check out the area you have been to and see what I can see.

Thanks so much

There are lots of options. You could consider Cascais which would be quieter, but still close to Lisbon to daytrip in. Sintra is another option. We stayed in Obidos for our last night, but had a car, and I"m not sure I would find enough to do for several nights in Obidos. Caldas de Raina might be another option, it is close to Obidos, I've not stayed there, but have heard it is very nice and less touristed.

Personally, I enjoy Lisbon itself. We have stayed twice in Castello, just north of Alfama, and I have not found it very noisy, lots of tourists in the day but quiet at night.

What is your actual itinerary? If you are ending your trip in Lisbon and wishing to explore the city itself before flying out the final morning, ditch the car as you arrive in Lisbon, so you can stay in the center and get around the city by walking and public transportation, then either take the subway or a taxi (or Uber) to the airport the final morning. Lisbon is very hilly but otherwise walkable. Public transportation is decent.

I like booking.com for research.

Then you can either book through booking or go directly to the lodging and book.

On booking, you can choose your desired neighborhood. You can read the description of the hotel and area on booking but you can also read the reviews. There are buttons for location, noise, etc.

Thanks for the responses.
Our trip will end in Lisbon and I think we should explore there as it’s our 1st time in the city.
We will do some day trips from a neighborhood we pick to stay in. (We have 4 nights)
Always nice to here of a neighborhood that some one has stayed in so thanks for that for sure.
We will have stayed in Olaho for 2 weeks as a base and Salema at a B&B for a week then Lisbon.
(Renting a motorcycle in Faro for 3 days should be exciting too!)
