My girlfriend and I are arriving in Lisbon on different flights, two hours apart.
Where is the best place to meet at the airport? Before customs? After customs? Somewhere else?
Neither of us has been there before.
There is a Starbucks in the arrivals hall - where drivers are holding up signs and people are waiting for friends and loved ones. When you walk out of the customs and baggage area, it’s on the left. Very easy to spot and where I always meet my driver.
Like Kathryn says, the Starbucks is the perfect place to meet your friend.
JUST DON'T DRINK THE COFFEE!
You will have just arrived in a country that treats coffee drinking like it is one of the seven sacraments.

Ha ha, Dennis. But, he is very correct. Its kind of sacrilegious to drink Starbucks in Portugal. Most coffee shops sell a cup of espresso (bica in Lisbon) for a euro or less. And, the coffee is second only to Italy in my opinion.
But, the one in the airport is still a great meet up place.
And in an airport full of the usurious Euronext ATMs there is a Multibanco behind the Starbucks should you need to obtain euros.
- don't get too many Euros as plastic is accepted virtually everywhere
- Take an Uber or public transportation to town. The airport taxis (unlike the in-town taxis) have a reputation of sometimes taking advantage of jet lagged arriving tourists
Enjoy a wonderful city
