Madrid to Portugal for 2 weeks

We are starting a trip in Madrid. Then to Segovia and Salamanca before going on to Portugal. Our first idea is to go out to Lemego then Porto, Coimba, Nazare, or Obidos, then Monsanto before heading back to Madrid. I’m having difficulty with really good hotels to stay at or other towns we should stay in, instead of those listed. I am willing to hear your suggestions if you can offer some for me. Thanks!

Look at the Pousadas in Portugal, special properties similar, but better, than paradoxes in Spain.
In Coimbra, Quinta de las Lagrimas
Obidos or Evora Pousadas
Porto, Pousadas or Hotel Infante De Sagres

What is your definition of a "really good hotel"? Or, can you give us some examples of hotels you have liked on other trips, or have rejected for this trip and why? It would also help to provide a price range, in euros. Otherwise, we're just guessing what your wishes are.

Thanks, you’re right. My definition of a really good hotel is one that is very clean, refurbished in the last 5 years or so, in a neiborhood that is safe and not shabby. My top price would be in the area of €300.00.

Porto- The very best B&B ever is the InPatio Guesthouse. It only has five rooms, but is centrally located with great accommodations and fantastic breakfasts.

I tried them but they are fully booked for our dates. Thanks for the advice though.
