Hello,
My family of four, including two older teenage boys is visiting Madeira this year for Christmas. We are wondering if we should stay in Funchal, or look for accommodations outside of Funchal. We will have a rental car, and plan to drive around the island for the week. We would also like to partake in some of the holiday festivities in Funchal, but not sure if it worth staying in the city. We tend to like beautiful views and ideally oceanside locations.
Any recommendations? We were thinking Ponta del Sol or Calheta, but Calheta is a bit far from Funchal should we want to explore there. I welcome any recommendations!
