Can anyone recommend a budget friendly hotel ($100-150) convenient to the red metro line which I understand by reading the travel posts that it is the best way to get into town from the airport? The Hotel Florecente mentioned in one of the posts is not available for our dates.

www.duasnacoes.com is another one in the same neighborhood with quite a few rooms. Rather than trying one-by-one, you may also have better luck with a hotel search engine like hotels.com. If I remember correctly from the one time I used that site, they have a pretty good mapping function.
