Lisbon to Seville transport

Has anyone heard of a company called Blablacar.com and how safe are they? It is hiring a driver and takes about 4-5 hours to drive to Seville. Looking for a faster way as train takes about 8hrs - prefer not to fly. Thanks.

There's a direct bus twice per day (one daytime and one overnight); see www.alsa.es.

I would choose this over Blablacar, which I understand to be more like hitching a ride with someone who says they're going your way.

An all-train route doesn't take 8 hours. It's closer to 14 hours with the Lisbon-Madid night train and a morning connection in Madrid.

The Alsa bus takes around 8 hours, were you using Google route planning?

blabla is a ride matching service, I can't see how they have done any background checks on the drivers or cars.

There is another option which is no faster but possibly more comfortable.

Train Lisbon to Faro and Alsa bus Faro-Seville. The problem is the connection is a bit long. Depart Lisbon (Oriente or Entrecampos) at around 8:25 arrive Faro 11:30, or depart 10:02 arrive 13:30. The bus terminal is about 250 metres further along the street from the railway staion. Bus departs at 16:00 arrives Seville around 19:30 The two trains are shadowed by other buses at around the same times http://eva-bus.com/ what's annoying is that there is a morning bus which departs faro 20 minutes too early for a train connection and a third bus from Lisbon which arrives Faro just too late for the connection. So you would be stuck in Faro for 4.5 or 2.5 hours. But there's things to see and places to eat.
