Lisbon plan 4 days

Can someone help me plan 4 days in Lisbon? I will visit Sintra but if possible want to stay in one place for 4 days. I’m traveling in June. Want to experience Fado music as well with kids, 7&9. I also have one extra day in Lisbon at the very beginning of my trip(going to Azores before spending time in Lisbon). But can’t do any day trip that day.

We never got to a Fado location as they started very late at night. Maybe you can find one earlier for children.

I’ve never seen a Fado performance that started before 10-10:30 pm. There are a few places in Alfama that have Fado but it’s going to be a matter of your children staying up late to see it.
The aquarium is quite good in Lisbon. And, there is a zoo that I hear is good. As my children are long grown, I’m not certain what other activities you will find for them. Cascais has a lovely park with ducks, chickens and peacock roaming freely. Children seem to love it, if you want to make the trip out here. There are also beaches your children might enjoy. Since many people make the commute from Cascais to Lisbon daily, it’s an easy, quick trip even if you don’t have time for another day trip.

All that said, I think you will easily find things to fill four days in Lisbon.

Thanks for the ideas. Except Fado and kids activities - what other grown up things to do or see. The kids are pretty active and can walk far.

I think they would enjoy Castelo de São Jorge. We went before sunset and it had really nice views as the sun was going down. Added a layer of mystery too when it got dark and different areas were lit up with lights. But during the summer, perhaps it might be a bit late to go at that time. But I think it would be a fun place for kids, I even thought it was fun climbing around and finding all of the beautiful peacocks. In the evening they roost in the trees and I enjoyed looking up and finding them all on the branches. We went when the tourist numbers were still lower than normal due to covid, so it wasn't that crowded. Also, most tourists had left by when we entered at the end of the day too.

Fado in Chiado is at 7PM. We went in 2018, and we are going to a show there May 31st. It is very enjoyable.
