We are planning a 3 day side trip to Lisbon sometime in April 2015. We will be flying in from Valencia.
Any ideas on hotels would be appreciated. We enjoy extensive walking about the cities we stay in, so areas/ hotels are not off limits due to hills/stairs. We would want ensuite/ private bath.

I stayed in a fabulous hotel in Lisbon near the city center Great location! It was Casa de Santos. I booked it on booking.com I can't say enough about how much I liked this place. If it were in a different city this is what I would want to live in! The building was completely restored about 4 years ago so the inside is all new. Dual pane windows, huge rooms, beautifully decorated, hardwood floors, high ceilings, they have an enormous common living room, beautiful common kitchen for use, and did I mention the best beds ever?!!! Some of the rooms have their own bathrooms, some share a bathroom, but it is only 2 rooms to a bathroom. The bathrooms have jacuzzi tubs, spa showers, it was fantastic! If you want your own bathroom, book early! It wasn't expensive - $48 E for one person. I could walk or take the transit anywhere. I bought a day ticket - well worth it, you can then take the trams and buses all day! Staff was really nice. Check it out!

I just returned from a stay at the Hotel Santa Justa and really enjoyed it. The location was great - with a view of the elevador from some of the outside restaurant/bar tables, comfortable beds and very modern, upgraded decor. It also is in a building that was restored in the last couple of years.
