Lisbon in February

I'm going to be in Lisbon in Feb for 6 nights. A big reason is to see the waves at Nazare, so if they are looking good on any of those day we are gong to rent a car and go for the day. So, any recommendations foor car hire in Lisbon center? Also I love history tours so any private or small group tour recommendations would be very much appreciated.

I've been to Lison once before, in summer, and went to Sintra but on a tour. This time I plan to go by train. Is Quinta de Regaleira somthing to do in February, middle of winter?

Thanks for the car rental, I will check them out but it just loks like a generic car rental site. I was wondering if there was a small company that is cheaper than all that lot Avis, Budget etc. I knw in my part of the world there are more local and better comapnies than the international chains.

Good idea about eBike tours in Lisbon, with all the hill etc. Have you been on one of their tours? Is the info level good or is is more of a sightseeing tour?

Marko - The info level on the Lisbon electric biking tour is good and the guide takes time to really immerse you into Portuguese history at each stop points with detail info. It's not just riding and pointing to sights and then go on to next. Autoeurope is legitimate. It gives you the main car rental companies in Lisbon. I am including another link for more details on Lisbon car rental.

Hi from Wisconsin,
Honestly...check out auto europe. It is a rental consolidator and they do a good job.. I have used them many times and early on I would book with them and then search for a lower fee on my own. No luck. I stopped trying to beat autoeurope.

Whether or not the waves in Nazaré will be up when you are here is anyone’s guess. But, February is the right time of the year. You might try magicseaweed.com for wave reports. It gives forecasts several days out, to give you a bit a time to plan. However, the forecast can change if more than 3 days out, so be aware.

I also recommend autoeurope.com. I’ve used them for many years and always been very happy.

And, yes, Quinta de Regaleira is worth it in February - if the weather is good. But, if it’s been raining for several days, be aware you will be walking on non-paved ground for much of the walk through the gardens - the best part of the visit.
