Lisbon Hyatt Regency or H10 Duque de Loule

Both of these hotels look beautiful but we are first time travelers from the USA to Portugal. Which do you recommend for a 2 night stay in Lisbon--especially in regard to location?

--easy access to and from the airport

--easy access to train for day trip to Sintra

--walkable area with access to restaurantss

Thank you!

The Hyatt is not really walkable to the heart of Lisbon; the H10 is better but I'd still look at somewhere closer to the Rossio metro area. It depends on what type of hotel you want. There are plenty of nice hotels on the Av. da Liberdade.

This is actually a very interesting question for me. I had a booking for the Hyatt in Belém since January for this upcoming July. I’m traveling with family which consists of two teenagers. They don’t share the same affinity as Rick for independent inns where you get the genuine experience. They prefer 5 star resorts or hotels hence the reservation at the Hyatt.

I had some friends advise against staying in Belém. But I never took it too serious as we are not really participating in the bars and nightlife with kids and figured it would be ok. However, I watched some YouTube videos last week and this podcast and completely changed my plans by canceling the booking. I chose a luxury apartment in Chiado neighborhood and actually saved about a thousand dollars. The podcast stressed the importance of choosing the right neighborhood. They even went as far as saying they wouldn’t use free hotel rewards in Lisbon because not ideal location. Episode 43 https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/ftco-travel-podcast/id1526718245
