Will be in Lisbon Sept 28 through Oct 1. My wife and I are looking for a hotel centrally located, close to public transportation, including the metro, and at a rate not to exceed around 125 Euro per night. Would appreciate recommendations.
I stayed at Brown's Boutique Hotel and loved it. I think it's in your price range and about a 3 minute walk to the Baixa Metro station. Great location for the three neighborhood walks in Rick's guidebook, easy to walk to Praca do Commercio, shopping, restaurants, trams and buses. Opt for the superior room. Mine was huge, well appointed and very comfortable. If you have to get to the airport from here, the desk will arrange a cab at a reduced rate.
We stayed at Casa do Bairro by Shiadu for around that price. The young owners are wonderful as we got there very early and they insisted we have breakfast and relax in the living room. If is very central to everything and we walked all over. They have a small pool and lemon trees in the backyard and leave wine out for the evenings. There are lots of restaurants a few streets over where the locals go, the owners are full of advice and rooms are very spacious.
