Lisbon hotel recommendations

We are planning a last minute trip to Portugal. We leave next week. Below is out tentative city itinerary:

Fly into Porto
Porto (3 nights)
Fly to Madeira
Madeira (3 nights)
Fly to Lisbon
Lisbon (5 nights)

We booked Porto and Madeira hotels but can’t find anything reasonable (250 Euro or under a night for Lisbon). Any suggestions?

Thank you for all your help. We managed to get a reservation for at Hotel Avenida by calling them directly :)

We are currently staying at the Hotel Avenida Palace and our average night price is €264. A little above your budget but you might find a bargain if they aren’t full. The hotel is beyond lovely. It is top notch. It’s in Rick’s book under Splurge. We are here for 6 nights.

We stayed at Hotel Alegria last year in May for €254/night and enjoyed it.

In the later part of October we're booked into Zuzabed suites, which is recommended in RS Portugal guidebook Lisbon accommodation locations. They also have a B+B portion as well as two cottages. They are less that 250E per night so would fit with your budget, but may not be what you're looking for. The pictures on their website look quite nice and they have good reviews.

We just passed the Art Inn hotel while walking to dinner. It is on a side street down from Rossi Station towards the water. The lobby is on an upper floor, the entrance is small, you might even miss it.

Of the ones above the only that could fit us in is Avenida (there is no availability but I called and they can make arrangements) or another option that one of the hotels above that I called recommended was 138 Liberdade.

Is anyone familiar with 138 Liberdade? For Avenida did you face any noise issues at all - I would be taking a slight chance booking it would be a three day with them looking to extend it for me the day off for the last two.

Thank you

I've stayed at the Emporium Suites many times. Located on R. dos Bacalhoeiros 18.

Large river view rooms, with kitchenettes, great location on the river in the Baxia area. Surrounded by restaurants walkable to most sites. I suggest a room on a higher floor if possible.

I book direct with the hotel.

Tonight is our last night at the Avenida Palace. We are ready to go home but sad to leave this beautiful hotel. We just had a light dinner and drinks in their first floor lounge while the pianist was playing soft music to our delight. The service is white glove. Also, we learned this hotel has an interesting history - during WWII many spies and VIP’s stayed here and had clandestine meetings through a secret passage way from the train station next door. The inspiration for James Bond stayed here too, Dusko Popov. Google him.
All this history added to our enjoyment of our stay.
