I've had several suggestions including: Devour Lisbon Food Tours, Oh My Cod tour and Culinary Backstreets. Get Your Guide and Airbnb Experiences also offers food walking tours. Prefer an evening tour with a bit more emphasis on food rather than drink. Also would like to spend less than 100 euros per person. Any personal experiences in terms of value, food quality and quantity with any of these providers? Thanks!
We’ve taken Eating Europe tours in Italy, and they’ve added Lisbon to their food tour locations. In Rome, they had an add-on price if you wanted to include tastes of alcohol during the food stops, but the base price (and the emphasis) of the tours was definitely food. Looking at their Website just now, it appears that beer, wine, and/or water is included in the price of the three Lisbon food tours, two of which are under €100.
I'm pretty sure they only do morning departures, but my experience with Culinary Backstreets in Lisbon is one of my favorite food tours ever - specifically because of how the tour (I think it was "Lisbon Awakens") served as an overview of the layers of history and colonialism in the city's food - and how global cuisine has been shaped by Portugal's trade empires. A real "learning history through food" experience - though my caveat would be that this was back in pre-pandemic 2020, so it's been a while. Felt like ample quantities of food, and a great focus on small/unique shops, producers, markets, and restaurants. That said, it's a bit over your budget, and a daytime tour (if I recall correctly, we started around 10 and finished around 3 or 4 in the afternoon) so may not fit the bill.
I found that the only company that gave food tours on Sundays was Eating Europe.
