Lisbon customs

My flight arrives Lisbon 9:10 pm. .there is an 11:10pm flight to Faro. What I have read about customs, do you think I can make it? If not that flight, is there a shuttle that can take me to my place in Faro, directly?
I would appreciate any help on this as im traveling alone.

When I flew to Lisbon last April and connected thru Amsterdam (immigration), I literally walked off the plane in Lisbon and exited. Passed thru no controls.

I'm assuming it will be the same with you since you will be going thru immigration in Finland.

Edit to add:
Here's the link for train times in case you miss your flight. It's around 3 to 3.5 hrs from Lisbon (Oriente) to Faro. Can take the metro to Oriente. https://www.cp.pt/passageiros/en

There's a couple of airport hotels within walking distance of the airport in case you need to spend the night.

You will go thru Passport Control in Helsinki so once in Lisbon it is just customs which is a matter of walking thru correct door - “something to declare” or “nothing to declare”

If you miss flight to Faro you’ll be better off spending the night in Lisbon then making your way to Faro next day
A shuttle would be very expensive, it’s a 3-4 hour drive and I doubt there will be a bus at that hour

I thank you so much. I do believe I can make that flight. I will have my fingers crossed.
Thanks ago. I appreciate it.

If everything goes as planned you can probably make the flight. But, what if something goes wrong and your flight to Lisbon is delayed? Those things can happen. It all depends on if you are willing to risk that and how important it is for you to get to Faro the same night.

That is exactly my fear. I’m not sure what I’ll do . I can wait till morning and take a n early flight and overnight near the airport. Or chance it. I have to think on this.

I do have another question.

Arriving Lisbon at 9:10. I have gone thru customs in Helsinki. So no customs in Lisbon.
If I buy my ticket to Faro for 11:10 pm, and I don’t make it, will the airlines allow me to go next day without buying another ticket??? Or—can I buy a ticket when I arrive in Lisbon? Would there be enough time?? I’ve never been to this airport and not familiar. I’m just trying to get my bearings as to what is the best way to go. I know I’m sounding crazy but I’d like to get to Faro same day if possible.

That is the poodle's core. How willing are you to risk it?

No, you will have gone through immigration in Finland, customs will be handled in Lisbon. But immigration takes longer.

You will most likely be considered a no-show and have to buy a new ticket. Unless you buy an expensive ticket that allows a lot of flexibility.

Buying a ticket when you arrive is of course possible, but then there is always the risk of the flight being sold out. And the fact that buying a ticket a few hours before departure can be expensive.

This is a situation where there are no right or wrong answers, but you have created a tricky situation. If you wanted to go to Faro the same day, booking a flight that arrives late in Lisbon and then try to self connect is in my opinion not the best decision.

If it was my trip, I'd head to Lisbon and spend the night there before taking the train to Faro the next morning.

Removed original comment; obviously caffeine level was too low as I seem to have misread the time of the flights.

Why not take the 245PM flight?

The OP lands in Lisbon 21:10 and is looking a flight to Faro that departs 23:10. It would be a bit tricky for them to catch a 14:45 flight.

(If everyone just used the 24h-clock, this would be much easier.)

Thanks so much for helping me figure out this situation. It really helped.
I have decided to overnight it in Lisbon and head to Faro the next day.
Best decision. Many thanks

I think that is the best choice. You will get to Faro a bit later, but a delayed flight will not destroy your plans. And you will not arrive in Faro in the middle of the night.

Update posted on the visitportugal site listed below. Anyone know what this means and what to do when I land in Lisbon next week?

https://www.visitportugal.com/en/content/covid-19-measures-implemented-portugal

FLIGHTS FROM THE U.S.A. AND CANADA
Passengers from the United States of America and Canada may use, upon arrival in Portugal, the technological border control doors (e-gates) within the scope of the Automatic Recognition System for Documentally Identified Passengers (RAPID4ALL).
This measure is already in force at Lisbon and Ponta Delgada International Airports, and will soon be extended to Porto and Faro.
