Lisbon and Porto sights

Hello all-
My wife has planned an impromptu trip to Portugal to meet her sister there. Sounds like they will have 3 days in Porto and 3 days in Lisbon. Outside of a day trip to Sintra, I don’t think they have a lot planned. What are some must see things? They like „old town „ sights. Are there any open air markets? Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance!

Join a walking tour for Lisbon. RS guide to Portugal (or the one to Lisbon specifically) mentions which walking tours to try. Also follow RS guidebook's self-guided walking tours for Lisbon and Porto. I will say though that some of the maps for the self-guided walking tour in the RS book is kinda terrible and very hard to decipher. If anything, RS books should imitate DK Eyewitness travel books for their maps and illustrations which are miles better.

A visit to Belem could be worth it. It's a suburb of Lisbon.

Places we visited in Porto included, Ribeira pier, San Bento station, Church of Saint Ildefonso, Chapel of Souls, and the cathedral. We also visited two wineries, Calem and Adriano Ramos Pinto, and took the one-hour tourist boat ride. Mostly we just walked around town. We did go to the very touristy Majestic Cafe even though it is way overpriced.
