Planning a last minute solo trip to Portugal for a week. Looking for recommendations on where to stay in Lisbon and Porto. Also, should I be including any other destinations if I plan to spend 8 days in Portugal - fly in Lisbon and fly out Porto.

You will love Lisbon
I spent three nights there and it was not enough. Can easily spend five nights in Lisbon.
I was on a cruise and took an excursion from Porto. Went to Braga. Beautiful and interesting.
Eight days in Lisbon and Porto seem about right.
I stayed at Be Poet Baixa Hotel in Lisbon. Three star hotel. I highly recommend and would stay there again. It is in the Baixa neighborhood, one of the flat neighborhoods.
It is on one of the main tourist streets but was no problem for me at all. Loved walking from one end to the other.
