Lisbon Airport Hotel LIS

Ending our European tour, can anybody recommend a nice but not fancy hotel very close to or at Lisbon Airport LIS, after we drop off the hire car?

We stayed at the Radisson Blu near the airport. I think we had to take a taxi from the airport to the hotel but they have a free shuttle bus which gave us a ride to the airport the next morning. The rate was reasonable (about $180, I think), and included a breakfast buffet.

I stayed at Star inn Lisbon Airport which is 5-10 minutes walking distance from the airport. There is a pedestrian path. Next door is the Meliá Lisboa Aeroporto. I haven't stayed there, so cannot comment.

The hotel rooms at the Melia airport hotel was dark and when you step into the room the toilet and shower are right there in stalls. There was no separate room for the bathroom. If you have an early flight it was convenient to walk to the airport. There is a shuttle but the line was too long and the walk took less time.

If you have a late morning or afternoon flight and want to spend the evening in a section of Lisbon you enjoyed. The city is close to the airport and taxis/ ubers are affordable. Public transportation is good too.

In hindsight, I wish I would have stayed near Orient train station and Park of Nations on our last night instead of Melia.

We have stayed at Radisson Blu also before and it was easy to get either into Lisbon neighborhoods or airport by taxi. I had chosen the Melia because it was closer to the rental cars and airport, but you still needed a taxi/Uber from rental car lots to the Melia.

To complete this thread, we stayed at the Melia. A very convenient location. The roundabout just outside creates lengthy traffic jams at all times of the day, so allow plenty of time for car hire return
