Lisbon Airport arrival service to speed passport control etc?

We’re flying into Lisbon next week. I’ve been following stories on TripAdvisor, Rick Steves’, Skytrax and more that indicates wait time to clear everything upon arrival can easily be 2, 3, or even 4 hours.

While I really hope that’s not the case, there are way too many detailed stories out there for me not to worry about it.

I have a movement limitation that makes it hard for me to stand for long periods of time - I can walk more easily than I can stand in one place. I can surely make my way through a 45 minute line with a combination of standing, kneeling, standing, leaning against luggage etc. But that would be my limit.

In some countries, we have hired an arrival service to meet us as we exit the plane and then escort us through a fast track immigration/passport control.

I can’t tell if that’s an option in Lisbon. Here is one site I found but I can’t tell if it’s what I’m looking for: https://airportservices.ae/mg/Arrival/Lisboa.

I’m mulling over asking for a wheelchair at our arrival but I’m really hoping to find another way to do this. I certainly can walk from the plane to immigration - but there is zero chance I could make it through a really long security line without a place to sit.

Any input on a good company would be appreciated - or even input that this kind of arrival is not feasible in Lisbon. Thanks!

Edited to add - we arrive on a flight from Paris at about 3pm. We will have only carryon luggage. We’re flying business class but I don’t think that helps - even if we’re at the front of the line, it only means we’re at the back of the line for the flight ahead of us and SkyScanner shows that TONS of flights are arriving that afternoon.

If you are flying from Paris, you will have done immigration there ( in Paris) .

When you arrive in Lisbon you just walk out the door ( assuming you do not have some declarable items with you)

What Joe said. You won’t have to go through passport control if you arrive from Paris. You might want to research how passport control has been at CDG.

And, asking for a wheelchair is a smart thing to do if you have some doubts. It will save your energy for after you arrive at your destination - not expending it in airports.

Thank you for the replies. I had read this was a possibility but could not tell for sure. What great news! I had been trying to sort out the details by looking at images of the passport control area and since it just showed lines for EU passport holders and non-EU holders, I was worried. But it sounds like our flight will flow into a different part of the airport arrivals. Thank you so much - it’s a load off my mind!!!

@Kathrynj - we’re good for Paris. That’s been our standard arrival airport for awhile and we’ve got connecting there down - plus we’ve got 5 hours on that layover:)

If you are flying USA-LHR-LIS, you will have to do immigration/passport control at LIS, as that is where you enter the Schengen zone.

You will have to do security screening between flights at LHR, but probably no border crossing formalities.

It would also be better to start your own topic, rather than 'tag on' to an existing one when you have a question
