Lisbon AeroBus #1 No Longer Running?

Excited for our upcoming RS Portugal tour in a couple weeks. We're checking on the schedule for the RS recommended AeroBus #1 from the Lisbon International Airport to Cais do Sodre (staying at the Hotel Lisboa Plaza) and it looks like that bus route is no longer running according to some websites. Can anyone that's been there recently confirm this? If true, is the Carris bus #744 Moscavide a good alternative or would we be better off with the Metro? TIA

Metro is so much better...direct line to airport.
Lisbon metro is beautiful with unique art and tiling at every stop.

Hi SueH,

My wife and I are on an upcoming RS Portugal tour as well starting June 13th in Lisbon, maybe we're on the same tour as you !

Like you I'm finding links that say the Aerobus isn't running. We're just going to use Uber. Slightly concerned we're arriving on the 12th and I'm hoping that the St. Anthony's Day celebrations don't close off the roads before we need them.

We've tried metros and buses when arriving from overnight flights in other cities & just find that the first day it's much more enjoyable when you're dropped off right at the hotel.

Thank you for the replies!

Gail and cafetista.bruja - the downside for choosing the metro is it would involve changing lines (which normally we're fine with) while being jetlagged and having our carryon bags at 8:30 in the morning (during rush hour?). We've heard about the art in the metro and are looking forward to seeing it but maybe not right away. :)

NathanF - yes, that's our tour, too! We get in a few days before the tour starts so we'll be kicking back and enjoying the celebrations on the 12th. Hope your Uber ride goes smoothly.

The #1 bus would have been perfect, dropping us off so very close to the hotel. My husband is favoring a taxi at this point. I'm still hoping someone can pull a rabbit (or a unicorn) out of the hat, but if not, we'll go with the flow.

Arrived in Lisbon a couple hours ago. We decided to do the metro and it was easy peasy! Got the Viva Viagem "zap" card with extra funds loaded for travel on our own.

Saw some of the tile work art at different stops through the windows. Nice when they highlight local artists and art styles.

The bus was not running as of late May/early June. Uber is very cheap in Lisbon so that's the most hassle-free way, although you're subject to surface street traffic. Cost should be less than $15. The Metro is also fairly easy, and because there's only 4 lines, transferring doesn't involve trekking to make connections, so that way works fairly well too, although some escalators at various stations were out of order and meant we had to walk up some steps, might not be great with luggage.
