Hi we are going to Lisbon and Madrid for 5 days each. Wondering if we should stay anywhere else in the Algarve region or just do day trips from Lisbon. We love the coast, hikes, wineries, and a lot of the countryside stuff and wanna do Sinyra and Caiscais but wondering how we should do our accommodations. Any recs welcome! Headed to Seville after or straight to Madrid. It’ll be June and July
You need four nights for Lisbon and three nights for Madrid. The Algarve deserves three nights so you do not have time.
I was in Lisbon last October four 4 days and it was not enough
I stayed at a 3 star hotel in. the Baixa area. It was called Be Poet Baixa.. I was very hppy with hotel and location.
Yes you want to do Sintra but also look into Belem.
Five days (or is it nights?) in Lisbon is good with day trips to Sintra and Cascais. Get in the habit of counting nights instead of days. So, base yourself in Lisbon for the 5 nights. You don’t have enough time for the Algarve. Cascais and the surrounding area have good beaches and there is enough hiking in Sintra between the sites IMHO. Then fly from Lisbon to Madrid and spend the next 5 nights there. I wouldn’t add Seville to your plan unless you had more time.
Thank you! I was wondering if anyone had insights on hikes in sintra.
