It's certainly a long day and easier to do with a small group tour. Check out cabtour, inside lisbon and cool tours for prices and itinerary.

We saw all of them over several days by ourselves. They are important sites to see. Our favorite place in Lisbon was Belém with it’s history, the explorers and all.

Portuguese "tapas" are petiscos. Using the correct word, even if your tour doesn't, goes over better with the Portuguese. I've met a lot of people who get very tired of being lumped in with the Spanish. Two different cultures and languages.

Hi.. since your time is limited, I'd recommend a guided tour . Definitely a highlight when visiting the Lisbon area.

"must see" or "must do" depends on your interests. In answer to your specific question -- we did a full-day tour with a private guide to those places and enjoyed it immensely, although we could have skipped Cascais. But, you could also spend your three days exploring Lisbon. We started our trip with a three-hour tuk tuk tour that gave us a comprehensive view of the city's neighborhoods. It's an amazing city to explore.

Thanks for all the replies....naalehuretiree....i guess it is more of a question..."Must do....cannot miss??."...being I have seen Palaces and Castles from Asia to Europe (including some of Mad Ludwig's)....Trying to evaluate if this is going to be an over the top memory...(of course that is subjective)....or will i enjoy strolling the streets of Lisbon and sipping port for the day.....again thanks for the replies...Probably should go!

Hmmm...its all relative... and all palaces, makes etc have their own character. I second the tuk tuk your which is fun and gives a great overview.

Personally I love Cascais. Pretty and a beautiful coast!!

With 3 days hire a tour to Sintra and Cascais day trip and then spend 2 days in charming Lisbon wandering around after a tuk tuk!

I have to traveled extensively worldwide and would give Pena Palace 5 stars. Spent overnight so I could really enjoy the area. The rest you mentioned I would give maybe 3 based on your interest. But Pena Palace ***** is so unique, historic, beautiful. I did walk the grounds then the trail back to the town. Visited twice and will go back again this fall with first timers. Follow the RS recommendations, I taxi up to entrance.
Cascais was a nice beach town, people seem to really love it, again based on your interest. Would I need to go back, probably not.
