Lisboa Card-Senior users

Ricks Portugal guidebook states that seniors (we’re 72 and 73) do not need a Lisboa card as many sights are free or half price for that age group. Can anyone substantiate this? All public transportation and many museums? This seems too good to be true! Would appreciate hearing if you were able to take advantage of this or saw this listed next to entry admissions, etc. Thanks!

Following! We were pleasantly surprised a few years ago in Madrid when we found we were eligible for senior discounts; in some countries you must be an EU citizen to take advantage of some of the discounts.

In Madrid, we showed either our passports or driver licenses at museums to claim the discounted rate.

Yes and no.
Some public transit offer the seniors discount others make it cumbersome.

The trains are the easiest, ask for a seniors ticket and show passport for proof of age.

Some bus companies require that you obtain a seniors card first or have seniors status updated on a zapping card.

Some venues have seniors discounts others do not.

Best is to determine which transit systems and venues you're interested and visit their websites for the seniors discount.
Most will have either the UK flag symbol or the letters EN to access their English page.
