Hi,
About how many hours would it take to do the strolls in Lisbon (Alfama and Castle, Baixa, Barrio Altro, and Chiado strolls) mentioned in Ricks' guidebook ?
I walked the Alfama, Baixa and Chiado strolls mentioned in Rick's guidebook on my visit to Lisbon in 2013. Though I cannot remember the precise time for each, I believe each took no less than 45 and no more than 2 hours. Check Rick's guidebook because I recall that he put an estimated time to complete each strolls.
I do remember that each stroll was worth it in part because he points out things that I might have otherwise missed. And sights along several of those strolls are still imprinted in my mind.
Rick Steves' book says the following about the "Three Neighborhoods" Walk:
"You can explore Lisbon's three downtown neighborhoods ... either as individual walks or by lacing them together into a single walk (which would take a minimum of five hours, but could be done as a more leisurely all-day experience)."
Mary, you are absolutely right about it taking a minimum of 5 hours. Sorry, I missed that
I took the walks last October on Separate days. Takes about 1.5 hours at a leisurely pace. You can go through them faster if you like. If you stop for lunch or a drink along the way, the it could take longer as well.
The nice thing about the walks is that you can do them at whatever pace you like.
Thank you all so much!!!
