Last minute Portugal questions

Hi,

I will be going to Lisbon and north from there in August. Aside from one lightweight sweater (one I use for the plane), is there a need to pack other cooler weather wear? Is there a need for a light rain jacket ?

Also, insect repellent? I also read somewhere the drinking water is safe, so just a water bottle would probably be a good idea. Anything I am missing?

I will be in Ponta delgada for a couple of days.

Thanks for your help.

I always pack a rain jacket. You can use it as a windbreaker too. Enjoy Portugal; it’s a wonderful place to visit.

Victoria, I would agree with Suki and bring a lightweight rain jacket with a hood. When we were in Lisbon a few years ago (September) it was 104 degrees! Consequently, we did not need the rainwear. When we went to the Douro Valley we had a little drizzle so I was glad to have my rain jacket. As far as insect repellent I always carry the Deep Woods Off! single pads. Easy to pack. Enjoy your stay!
