Larger accommodations needed + Douro River Cruise advice

We are a group of four women over 60 who will be independently traveling in Portugal in September. We plan to stay two or three nights in Lisbon, two nights in the Algarve, one night in Coimbra, two or three nights in central Portugal near Nazare., Two nights in Porto, and perhaps a river cruise in the Douro valley. We are open to all suggestions, but our accommodation needs are rather unique in that we would need a minimum of two bedrooms and would like to have four beds. Willing to share a bathroom with each other. Interconnected hotel rooms are also fine as well as separate hotel rooms, but prefer being near each other at least. Not interested in fold out couch sleeping!
Also interested to learn about great river cruises out of Porto! Thanks in advance!

Try booking.com to search and compare prices.

We are three couples and we found booking a three bedroom/three bathroom apartment was the cheapest for us. However, we are staying 4 to 5 days in each location. The cleaning fee and booking fee gets spread out over so many nights which makes it more affordable.

In your case, you may find that the booking fee and cleaning fee for a 2 bedroom apartment will be relatively expensive if you only stay one, two or even three nights. Two hotel rooms with 2 twin beds might well be your best option.

Anyways, booking.com has a great search tool where you can set down the dates, number of rooms, people and beds. You can then compare the prices, photos, amenities and locations. And then, you can try finding a direct booking site for your chosen accommodations to see if you can get a better price by booking direct. Good luck.
