I will be spending 3 nights and 2 full days in the Algarve. Looking for recommendations to stay in Salema or Lagos? Also, I will be coming from Porto on the train. Which of those cities is more accessible on the train?

We stayed in Lagos several years ago and enjoyed it very much. We went to Salema, a very small fishing village, one day , but it was too small for our taste as a place to stay. We were glad we chose Lagos.

I don't think the trains go farther west than Lagos, so you'd need to travel onward to Salema by bus.

Lagos, hands down. It’s a much more enjoyable town with plenty to do and Ponte de Piadade right outside of town. Salema is very small with little to do other than the beach.
