I'm a female traveling solo in Portugal for a week. Looking for a place to stay in Lagos and Lisbon. Any advice on a good area of town to stay in?
For Lagos, I'll be at the beaches during the day and will probably want to stay near good restaurants/bars for the nighttime. Looking for quiet, safe area that's still walkable to attractions. For Lisbon, I'm pretty open if it's safe and fairly central.

When are you travelling? Many places are fully booked out for the summer on the Algarve.
In Lagos, there aren't really any "bad" areas to stay. Some like the marina, but I prefer the old town. There are two distinct beach areas - Meia Praia is a very long straight beach to the east of the town with easy, level access. If you head to the west of the town centre, the beaches are a series of smaller coves backed by high cliffs, with step access down from the cliff top. The two beach areas are c 20 minutes walk apart.
You won't have to walk very far anywhere in Lagos to find a restaurant or bar.
