Keep April itinerary simple or add night(s) in Pinhao?

My wife and I have learned from all of you to keep our itineraries simple and open but we are wondering if this one is too concise and we should add another location?

  • Lisbon 5 nights (Sintra day trip)
  • Porto 4 nights (Duoro Valley all day boat trip)

We arrive in Lisbon March 30th after a week in Dublin for work so we will be well adjusted day 1. We fly home from Porto. My wife is expecting and I'll choose to not drink much wine. That said, the Douro Valley seems to catch our eyes the most (following Lisbon & Porto). I'm just not sure it is worth staying 1-2 nights in Pinhao is worth the logistics of moving around (as compared to boat day trip). We expect to get a car towards end of Lisbon.

To my knowledge, there are no boat trips from Porto to Pinhão other than multi day cruises. The train is a good way to get there, though. You can do a couple of hours cruise from pinhão or Porto. The scenery is lovely and it’s fun to stay at a Quinta. However, depending on the time of the year (plus not drinking the wine), I’m not certain it would be worth breaking up your trip with a couple of two night stays.
