Julie Dawn Fox

Curious of anybody has availed themselves of her services for planning a trip to Portugal? She seems knowledgable and affordable and I about about to drop 30 Euros to schedule a 30 minute call to discuss my potential itinerary with her.

Comments?

Kind Regards,
Jim

Run your itinerary through this group first. Probably better advice. Then, it you want a second opinion, call Julie. The first problem with reviewing any itinerary is that no one knows what you want to see and do. What appeals to you and what doesn't. What is your travel style? Some like to go slow in sit in cafes. Others like the drive-by, check it off the list style of travel. Both work equally well if that is your style. But you have to decide what you want to see and do.

PS -- If I had not read your other questions, I would be suspicious that this question was just a marketing plug for Julia because I have no idea who she is.

Julie’s blog is quite good. She writes about the less obvious things to do in Portugal and does a lot research by traveling extensively around the country.
If you really feel you need a consultant, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her. That said, there is so much information in books and on the web, you can likely find everything you need without a personal consultant. But, if you aren’t fond of the research, a consult might be a good thing.

She may be great and well worth the expense BUT I would not contact her or any consultant without researching first.

Plan everything out, run it by forum people to make sure it makes sense, utilize Google, etc...

Otherwise your 30 minutes will be wasted on the basics, if you are going to pay for an expert get value out of it by having the basics done yourself.

What will happen is your 30minutes will run out, your plan won't be finalized yet and you end up paying for more time from her. She makes out that way, but you lose
