First timers(3 adults )to Portugal late October-Nov. we have Duoro Cruise that starts in Lisbon. We have scheduled a few days before and after on our own and would love any suggestions to our itinerary!
Arrive Lisbon-need recommended driver service to Coimbra-Daytrip, other? We will arrive @ 9am from US. Is it reasonable to think we would enjoy a stop or two on the way (ie Conimbriga)?
3 nights Coimbra with day trip to Piodao (we plan to rent a car for this). Hotels in Coimbra? Or air bnb?
Then we will drive to Nazare, Obidos. Other stops on our way back to Lisbon?
1 night castle in Obidos. Drive to Lisbon stopping at Peniche-is there a tour here? Any other suggestions?
Then we have our scheduled Tour-3 days Lisbon with day trip to Sintra. Bus to Porto with stop in Tomar. 7 day river cruise on Duoro.
Then we go north-Driver service to Santiago de Compostelo for 3 days. Hotel? Airbnb? (Know this isn’t Portugal). Day trips to small towns-suggestions? Thank you in advance!

In Coimbra we enjoyed our stay at Hotel Mondego. It’s by one of the train stations and close to a number of restaurants. Santa Cruz Church Is about a 7 minutes walk from it.
Info you want to splurge on a hotel in Santiago de Compostela, I suggest the Parador right at Obradoiro Square and the cathedral where pilgrims end their Camino. In November the prices may not be too bad. If it’s out of your price range then Hotel Rua Villar may work. It’s fairly small and has a lot of character. It’s just feet from the Fountain of Horses. We enjoyed both hotels.
