How long is connecting time from AMS - LIS coming in from usa

I am going to Lisbon and not sure if I should go through CDG or AMS. Each connecting flight is only about an hour.
I don't know how long it will take once off the plane in either place to get to my connecting flight to LIS. I am flying DELTA/AF from CDG or DELTA/KLM from AMS.

I don't want to miss my connection nor do I want to have to recheck my bags. any help?
thanks,
Kathy

If you are one ticket, no need to recheck bags, you can verify at Check-In in the US that the bags are checked through to Lisbon

In both places, you would simply follow the signs indicating connecting flights, if you decide one or the other, people on here can help with what to expect. But you will go through immigration in either place (CDG or AMS), which accounts for most of the delay in getting to your gate.

Personally, I would opt for Amsterdam. The airport is efficient, the change quick, I have had several similar flights that allowed only just over an hour between flights, and made it with time to spare.

I agree that AMS is much better for connection than CDG. It's well signed and easy to navigate .However, connection time needed varies depending on what time of year you are traveling. Peak season obvs you will probably need to allow more time. Sometimes you'll have a long walk between gates.

Personally I wouldn't have a layover of less than an hour and a half in AMS (and more like three hours at CDG). Not only do you need to get from one gate to another, but your bag (assuming you are traveling on one ticket) does too.

I wouldn’t buy a ticket with only an hour to make a connection as it’s out of my comfort zone. If your flight departs late you could miss your connection. Then there’s the aircraft getting to the gate after landing and getting off the plane. After that you need to get to immigration which can be a long walk and hoping no other flights arrived at the same time. Finally, you need to get to your new departure gate which could be another long walk.

Good luck. To me, 2.5-3 hours is needed for international flights to ensure you make your connection.

If this is on one ticket, and you miss your connection, the airline must get you on the next available flight. (One with empty seats.)

See which airport has the most flights to Lisbon.

Your bag will be checked through to Lisbon but you will go through immigration/passport control in either AMS or CDG.

If this is two separate tickets, forget one hour. You'll need a lot more time than that.
